James K. Ossola, CHA, General Manager

Jim became the General Manager at the Parkway Hotel back in January of 2009 and brings with him 23 years of Sr. Hotel Management experience.  His positive and upbeat management philosophy has positioned our “jewel” in the Central West End as one of the top costumer service hotels in the St. Louis region.  Since Jim’s arrival the hotel has been awarded Expedia.com’s Insider Select Hotel award, Travelocity's Excellence award and Trip Advisor’s Certificate of Excellence award all for superior Customer Service.  Jim says, “I’ve worked from Los Angeles to Austin, and Boulder to Boston, but nowhere have I enjoyed the people and the hotel more than here at the Parkway.”

 

Before coming to the Parkway, Jim was a General Manager with Courtyard by Marriott, Choice Hotels, La Quinta Hotels and Resorts, and Signature Hospitality just to name a few.  Jim was born across the river in Belleville, IL but left at an early age only to return to his native area nearly 50 years later.  Jim has a BA in Broadcast Journalism from Pepperdine University- Malibu, CA in 1982, and earned his CHA designation in 1998.  He currently resides in Chesterfield, MO with his wife Nancy.

Terry A. Haney, Front Office Manager

Terry was an “original” as he was hired as a Bellman when the Parkway first opened in November 2003 while pursuing a degree in Business Administration from Fontbonne University in St. Louis, MO. During his tenure at the hotel, Terry has progressed to every position in the Front Office being promoted to his current position in 2011.  Terry’s management philosophy is simply providing excellent customer service to all traveling guests.

 

Before making his way to the Parkway, Terry spent 16 years in industrial engineering.  After the plant relocated out of state, it forced Terry to focus his life in a different career path. “I knew that customer service and hospitality was the field for me to grow in and use the skills I had acquired over the years and what a better place to start than The Parkway Hotel.” Terry is proud of his accomplishments at The Parkway Hotel, but more than that he is proud to be a member of what he calls the best management team in the hospitality industry. “Our team consists of professional and experience individuals who really care about our guests being a part of the Parkway family”.

 A native St. Louisian, Terry would like for travelers to think of The Parkway Hotel as an iconic place to stay while in St. Louis being that there is only one in the world. “From the time you place a reservation till the time that you leave, we will pamper you with the best customer service you have ever experienced”.

Richelle Tirone, Director of Sales and Marketing

Richelle came to the Parkway Hotel in 2004 as a Sales Manager and was shortly promoted to her current position of Director of Sales and Marketing in 2006.  Under her leadership, the Parkway sales took off and achieved the highest market share in the St. Louis region in 2009 to present.  She also received the “Spirit of Sodexho Regional Award” for outstanding performance and lasting contribution in customer Satisfaction and Client Retention.  Richelle prides herself on the referrals and comments of her clients remarking at her unparalleled customer service and attention to detail.

 

Before coming to the Parkway, Richelle spend 6 years with Adams Mark Hotels, and Starwood Hotels, and while with Starwood, won the employee of the month for the entire Starwood Company nationwide.  Richelle was also a 9 time employee of the month nominee while with Adams Mark Hotels.

 

Richelle grew up on East Coast before making her way to the St. Louis area where she raised her now successful 3 grown sons.  Richelle currently resides in St. Louis, MO.

Colleen Canada, Human Resource Director

Colleen came to the Parkway as the Human Resources Director in 2006. Throughout her tenure, Colleen has helped create and implement many HR policies and practices. She strives to hire top notch employees who in turn provide superior customer service to hotel guests at all times. Before coming to the Parkway Colleen assisted the Senior Human Resource Director for Citigroup North America. She also assisted in the Employee Programs and Compliance Departments at Citigroup setting up health fairs, managing incentive programs, and conducting proper compliance audits.

 

Colleen is a 2004 Krannert School of Management graduate from Purdue University. In her free time, she enjoys traveling the country visiting family and friends. She also enjoys attending concerts, cheering on the St. Louis Cardinals, her Boilermakers, and spending as much time soaking up the sun as possible. She currently resides in University City, MO.

Denise Gardner, Director of Security

Denise became the Director of Security at the Parkway Hotel in February of 2009 and brings with her over twenty years of Security experience. She initially joined the Parkway Hotel as a Security Officer in 2003 and by being a dedicated and loyal employee she worked her way up to Security Supervisor and later to her current position of Director of Security.   She is dedicated to providing exceptional customer service and leadership to our employees and guest. Her purpose here at the Parkway Hotel is to provide safety for our guest and make sure their stay is enjoyable and memorable.  Denise has worked at many locations as a Security Officer but always says the Parkway Hotel is one of the most rewarding and enjoyable places to work.

 

Before coming to the Parkway Denise was a Security Officer at Barnes Hospital and was a training Officer and Control Room Operator for the Sangamon County Sheriff’s Department in Springfield Illinois for over five years. Denise was born and raised in East St Louis Illinois where she graduated from East St Louis Senior High school and then went on to attend Belleville Area College where she received a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice.

Karla Garcia, Sales Manager

Karla is our newest member of our management team joining us in March 2014.  Karla comes to the Parkway after spending 2 years as an Assistant to four distinct Biology Professors at Washington University - St. Louis.  Before coming to Washington University, Karla had numerous position in the St. Louis region and in the state of Michigan including 6 years of Real Estate experience.  

 

Karla is currently working on completing her Bachelors Degree at Washington University with an anticipated graduation date of December 2014.

James D. Anderson, Front Desk Manager

James became the Front Desk Manager at the Parkway Hotel back in May 2012 and brought with him over 10 years of hospitality experience. His reliability and dedication as well as productivity and cooperation are just a few of the reasons he excels at his job as Front Desk Manager. He maintains a professional demeanor but always finds the time to enjoy a friendly chat with guests.

 

Before coming to the Parkway, James was an Operations Manager with Candlewood Suites, Front Office Manager with Roberts Mayfair Hotel, Front Office Manager at Hotel Indigo, and Front Desk Supervisor with Holiday Inn just to name a few. James was born in St. Louis, Mo. and still resides there with his son. James went to Forest Park Community College on a full-ride baseball scholarship.

Elizabeth A. Gordon, Assistant Front Office Manager

Elizabeth started at the Parkway Hotel in February 2009 as the Front Desk Manager and in 2011 she was promoted to her current position of Assistant Front Office Manager.  Elizabeth brings over 6 years of hotel management experience to the Parkway.

   

Elizabeth began her hospitality career 13 years ago for Marriott Courtyard while attending college. She has worked for Doubletree Hotels and Marriott since graduation in 2004 when she earned her BA in Psychology from the University of West Florida.  She is from the St. Louis area, and currently resides in Florissant, with her family.

Lester Williams Jr., Housekeeping/Engineering Manager

Lester joined the Parkway Hotel Staff as a Floor Technician in 2008 and was shortly promoted to Lead Housemen. After a brief absence to Manage Housekeeping Departments at the Mayfair Hotel and Indigo Hotel here in St Louis, he rejoined the Parkway Hotel Staff in 2009. Lester became Housekeeping Manager here at the Parkway in 2010. His ability to lead, always positive attitude and his extroverted personality carries over to the housekeeping staff, which has resulted positive guest reviews and awards such as Trip Advisor’s Certificate of Excellence in 2012. Lester credits his leadership skills to his 6 years serving in the United States Navy, including time aboard the Aircraft Carrier USS John F. Kennedy.

 

Lester was born in Newark, New Jersey and after graduating from his high school college prep program, he attended junior college in Colorado before being drafted into the Armed Forces during the Vietnam Era. While serving, he continued his education focusing on Business and Organizational Behavior.

Stephanie Smith, Front Desk Manager

Stephanie became the Front Desk Manager at the Parkway in 2011.  Stephanie was an “original” in 2003 as she was the first line employee hired as a Reservationist/PBX Operator while the Parkway was still under construction.  Stephanie’s hard work and dedication to the Parkway saw her get her first promotion to Reservation Supervisor where she served in that position for 6 years before earning her second promotion into her current management position.  Stephanie strengths are in her customer service skills as our guests constantly remind us in online reviews and guest comment cards.  Her ability to make everyone “feel at home” proves that she is a valuable asset to the Parkway.  She is a 6 time winner of Parkway’s Employee of the Month and was awarded Employee of the year in 2005.

 

Before coming to the Parkway, Stephanie spent time at Westin, Omni and Hyatt Hotels in various positions here in the St. Louis area.  Stephanie currently resides in St. Louis, MO and is a proud mother of a United States Military Veteran.
